Long before Whoovers, there was Whotopia Derby, Derby's first Doctor Who fan group. Over the years it had several Co-ordinators, the last being Andrew Thompson. But then the TV series finished and things looked black for 'Whodom' generally, it was decided to close Whotopia down with a big flourish rather than let it just fade away and die. As part of the splendid send off, a video was made called The Five Anoraks, in which evil Anorak monsters came and dragged prominent members of the society (which had always been proudly an anorak-free zone) into the Time Vortex and total destruction. But Doctor Who and its fans are made of sterner stuff, and a few years later people were agitating for another Derby Who group to be formed. So, with a certain amount of squawking and singed tail feathers, The Whoovers arose phoenix-like from the ashes, and for their inaugural meeting another video was prepared - Anoraknophobia! In this story; Gary and Steve (the temporary steering committee for the Whoovers), also arise phoenix-like (and with a certain amount of squawking and singed tail feathers) from the remains of the Evil Anorak's latest predations and the Anorak himself gets his come-uppance.
